Newsmeldung vom 21.03.2009, Kategorie: Beitrag
In its annual special issue from March 23rd, 2009, the TIME magazine brings "10 ideas changing the world right now" as its title story. These ideas are:
- Jobs are the new assets (no longer stocks or real estate)
- Recycling the suburbs (to reduce the growth of the cities)
- The new Calvinism (as a strong religious movement 500 years after Calvin was born)
- Reinstating the Interstate (and other infractrucure)
- Amortality (or the trend to appear young as long as possible)
- Africa, business destination (as a third economically interesting region next to China and India)
- The Rent-a-Country (as the trend to use foreign land to grow food when the own production is not enough)
- Biobanks ("a safe house for tissue samples, tumor cells, DNA and, yes, even blood - that would be used for research into new treatments for diseases)
- Survival stores (in times when the consumers hold back their money, what still sells are products for emergency cases, i. d. canning supplies, power generators, Smart cars, solar shingles etc.)
- Ecological intelligence (which is referring to the book by Daniel Goleman, means the attempt to understand the full lifetime effects of our actions on the earth and our health)
There probably are many other ideas that could be added to that list that also have the potential to influence the global economy in the next months and years. Some of the ideas presented here are mainly from an American point of view. The articles that altogether take 14 pages are well written and worth reading.
